The Sovereign of the Seas was the most magnificent ship of the 17th century British Royal Navy for more than 50 years. This model by Casa Padrino reproduces her in museum quality: fully assembled, 94 cm tall, with three decks and three rows of cannons on each side. An object visitors stop in front of and start asking about.

Every model is built 100 percent by hand, individually, from historic photographs, drawings and original plans, using the same method as real ships: planking on frames. Fine woods such as western red cedar, rosewood and mahogany are used, together with brass for the statues and the handmade ornaments on the panels. The forward bowsprit and the three large masts are connected by elaborate rigging, every line fastened by hand, and the sails of fine linen are hand-sewn and furled.

This example belongs to the Exclusive Edition: it carries its own serial number etched into the hull, through which the production date and the materials used can be traced. Hundreds of working hours go into each model, which passes a demanding quality inspection before it leaves the workshop.
