The motif
A narrow folding table with a rectangular shelf whose back rises as a tall scroll of volutes and heart shapes. Below the top lies a second, spoked shelf. The base is a scissor trestle that folds flat.

Craftsmanship and finish
The scrolled back is bent from round iron and set onto the top, the lower shelf inlaid with spokes. The frame is bent by hand from round iron, welded and dressed, the ornaments applied one by one. Finally the piece is primed and lacquered in several layers, the last layer taken back slightly at the edges so that the surface looks used.

Placement and effect
The narrow format suits a hallway, a bathroom, a terrace wall or a spot beside a door. The scrolled back holds towels and brushes, the lower shelf takes baskets.

Material and care
The furniture is made for outdoors and tolerates sun and rain. Over the winter it should be stored dry or covered, which noticeably extends the life of the lacquer. Small scratches can be touched up with a lacquer pen, stubborn dirt comes off with water and a soft brush.
