The motif
A folding chair with a high back rounded at the top: the back panel is a wire lattice carrying a leaf ornament at its centre, and two volutes close the arch above. The round seat is framed with a wreath of leaves.

Craftsmanship and finish
The lattice panel is stretched from wire onto the back frame, leaf ornament and volutes set in one by one. The folding mechanism works without tools. The frame is bent by hand from round iron, welded and dressed, the ornaments applied one by one. Finally the piece is primed and lacquered in several layers, the last layer taken back slightly at the edges so that the surface looks used.

Placement and effect
The chair belongs at a round garden table, on a balcony or in catering where seating changes. Folded up it stands flat against the wall and so gets through the winter dry.

Material and care
The furniture is made for outdoors and tolerates sun and rain. Over the winter it should be stored dry or covered, which noticeably extends the life of the lacquer. Small scratches can be touched up with a lacquer pen, stubborn dirt comes off with water and a soft brush.
