The motif
Three spoked shelves rise stepwise towards the back, carried by a frame with a St Andrew's cross. Large volutes roll in at the sides, the feet ending in scrolls. The shelves are worked open so that water can drain.

Craftsmanship and finish
The shelves are spoked individually and set into the frame, the volutes bent by hand. Over the green ground lies a thin glaze that gives the impression of iron weathered for years. The frame is bent by hand from round iron, welded and dressed, the ornaments applied one by one. Finally the piece is primed and lacquered in several layers, the last layer taken back slightly at the edges so that the surface looks used.

Placement and effect
The stand arranges up to nine pots so that each gets light. It stands against a house wall, under a window or on a balcony, and in winter in a conservatory.

Material and care
The furniture is made for outdoors and tolerates sun and rain. Over the winter it should be stored dry or covered, which noticeably extends the life of the lacquer. Small scratches can be touched up with a lacquer pen, stubborn dirt comes off with water and a soft brush.
