A motif from the Art Deco of the 1920s
A dancer stands upright, arms bent above her shoulders, wearing a costume of fringed skirt, beaded belt and close-fitting cap. After the opening of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922 all of Paris took up Egyptian motifs, and the sculptors of Art Deco made their best known dancing figures from them.

Fine craftsmanship and solid bronze
The figure is cast in solid bronze using the lost-wax process, each piece chased and patinated individually by hand. The dark brown patina shimmers greenish on the fringes and the beading, and every row has been reworked individually. It rests on a stepped round base of dark marble.

Placement and effect
At 75 cm tall and 12,3 kg the sculpture has real weight and needs no company. It stands best on a sideboard, a console in the entrance hall or in a lit display cabinet, because the fringed costume needs raking light.

Material and care
Bronze and marble do not age and are maintenance-free, a dry cloth is enough. Because every piece is patinated by hand, no two are alike.
