A winged female figure sets one foot on a sphere, the wings sweeping up behind her in a wide arc. Night as a winged figure is part of the standing repertoire of sculpture around 1900, when allegories were still a matter of course.

Fine craftsmanship and solid bronze
The figure is cast in solid bronze using the lost-wax process, each piece chased and patinated individually by hand. The golden brown patina is polished smooth on the body while every single feather of the wings is chased. The figure stands on a bronze sphere above a conical base of black marble.

Placement and effect
At 33,7 cm tall and 2,98 kg the sculpture has real weight and needs no company. On a console, a sideboard, in an entrance hall or in a display cabinet with side lighting it works best.
