The motif
A curly-headed boy with a headband plays the aulos, the ancient double flute, whose two pipes point diagonally downwards. The water issues from the ends of the pipes. He stands on a round rock base, a remnant of drapery over his hip.

Craftsmanship and casting
The patina is dark brown with reddish and green flecks, hair and headband worked out lighter. Both flute pipes carry water, the supply line lies in the base. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
At 102 cm the boy is the classic basin figure: centred in a round basin, at the edge of a water basin or as a pair with the light version TBF-46G.

Material and care
Bronze is weatherproof and may stand outdoors all year round, the surface develops its own grown patina over the years. Before the first frost the pump and the water line are drained and the basin is left dry. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical.
