The motif
A frog stands upright on a water lily leaf, leans far back and blows a long trumpet diagonally upwards. The jet of water issues from the bell. The motif is one of the best known inventions of garden bronze.

Craftsmanship and casting
Belly and thighs are polished smooth and shimmer golden, back and leaf remain matt and darker. The trumpet carries the water, the supply line lies in the leaf and a pump connection is prepared. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
With a depth of only 20 cm the frog fits narrow basin edges and tight bank strips. The angled jet carries far and can be aimed at a basin or a pond.

Material and care
Bronze is weatherproof and may stand outdoors all year round, the surface develops its own grown patina over the years. Before the first frost the pump and the water line are drained and the basin is left dry. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical.
