The motif
Lady Justice holds the scales high above her head on her outstretched right arm, in the left hand the lowered sword rests. The eyes are blindfolded, the robe is ornamented across the breast and falls in heavy folds. Beneath the advanced foot a snake coils across the rock base.

Craftsmanship and casting
Pans and chains are worked separately and hung movably so that they swing freely; the sword is likewise a separate part. The figure stands on a turned marble base. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
The classical motif for a law firm, a notary's office and a tax practice, and equally for a private study. On a sideboard behind the desk or on a console in a waiting area the figure stands right, with light from above on the scales.

Material and care
Bronze does not age and is practically maintenance free, a dry soft cloth is all it takes. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and surface are part of the process and are not a defect.
