Casa Padrino Luxury Velvet Bed Headboard Hill Rise – A Silhouette Like a Skyline

Most headboards are rectangles. This Casa Padrino luxury bed headboard is not: rounded upholstered staves rise from the outside inward and form a silhouette reminiscent of a skyline, of an opened fan, of the back of an art deco chair. The shape alone carries the piece; it needs no ornament.

The appeal lies in the gradient. No stave is as tall as its neighbour, and because the rounded tops stand free, the contour reads clearly against the wall. Anyone with a large empty wall above the bed gets a piece of furniture that shapes that wall itself.

The camel velvet is deliberately warm. Camel sits between sand, caramel and pale cognac and therefore feels softer than beige and warmer than grey. On the rounded staves a gentle gradient from light to dark arises which underlines the shape still further.

In craft terms the fan shape is the most demanding design of this series: every stave is padded and covered individually, then all of them are assembled so that the curves sit flush against each other. A deviation of a few millimetres would immediately distort the silhouette.

In a hotel suite such a headboard replaces the art on the wall. In a private bedroom it works particularly well in an otherwise reduced room: white wall, smooth floor, few pieces of furniture – and this one shape.

Only the headboard is delivered, without a bed. On request this model is produced in other colours, sizes and fabric qualities; in cream white the silhouette becomes even more graphic, in a dark tone almost sculptural.
