Casa Padrino Luxury Velvet Bed Headboard Cube – A Patchwork You Cannot Paint Over

Most bedrooms are monochrome, and so are most headboards. This Casa Padrino luxury bed headboard is the opposite: a patchwork of velvet squares in pink, red, orange, turquoise, ochre, aubergine and black, assembled into one field across two metres of width.

The appeal lies in the fact that every square is cut and inserted individually. No pattern repeats, no two neighbours are alike, and because all squares are velvet their tones additionally shift with the incoming light. Close up it is handwork, from a distance a field of colour.

A piece like this needs a quiet room. White walls, plain bedding, little else: then it works like a large painting and carries the entire room. Between patterned wallpaper and colourful rugs it becomes restless instead.
