A motif from the Art Deco of the 1920s
A young woman has laid herself into the sickle of a moon, her head thrown back, her hair falling free. The moon is the oldest motif in decorative art, and in the Art Deco of the 1920s it returned as a stage for dancing figures. Exactly that moment is held here: the body hangs instead of standing.

Two surfaces that lift each other
The crescent is polished to a golden shine and tapers finely at the tips, the body carries a warm reddish brown patina and the hair is set almost black. This three-part chord makes the sculpture readable from several metres away. It rests on a stepped round base of dark marble.

A piece that needs light
At 56 cm tall and almost 49 cm deep the figure is made for free placement: on a sideboard against a dark wall, in a niche with a spotlight, on a grand piano or in a bar. Wherever light falls from the side, the crescent glows.

Solid bronze on real marble
