This chandelier by Casa Padrino is built from triangular cut crystal rods. They hang closely side by side in five tiers, each tier a little smaller than the one above. The result is a body that tapers towards the bottom like a cut cone.

Every rod carries three longitudinal edges. That is what creates the vertical lines of light running across the whole set of drops: light from within is refracted at each edge and travels through the glass as a bright stripe. Small gold-coloured plates sit between the rods, structuring the rows and mirroring the frame inside the glass.

At 45 cm in diameter this chandelier stays compact. That makes it the right size for rooms where a large chandelier would overwhelm: above a round dining table for four, in the entrance hall, in the bedroom or above a seating group. It also finds its place in a stairwell or a hotel room.

Six E14 sockets sit inside, so the light comes from the centre and works its way outwards through the glass. The link chain can be shortened, which adapts the hanging height to the ceiling.
