The motif
A young girl in a long belted robe holds a heavy garland of blossoms before her with both hands, the head lowered, the gaze on the flowers. The hair lies in a soft cap around the face. Beside the standing leg a tree stump supports the figure, the robe falling in long vertical folds to the round base.

Craftsmanship and casting
The figure is made of resin, cast into the mould and afterwards finished in antique white. The material is markedly lighter than stone, frost-resistant and weatherproof, and it allows finer blossom shapes than a stone cast could hold. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
The figure is almost two metres tall and thus carries a whole section of garden: the end of a sight line, a niche in the hedge, the edge of a circular bed. Against dark greenery the antique white comes out best. At this height a plinth is not needed.

Material and care
Bronze does not age and is practically maintenance free, a dry soft cloth is all it takes. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and surface are part of the process and are not a defect.
