This pendant lamp by Casa Padrino works neither with colour nor with ornament, but exclusively with light and glass. Dozens of sharply cut crystal glass rods hang in several tiers and taper downwards to a slender point. What looks like a closed body from a distance dissolves into separate, clearly divided elements as you approach.

The appeal lies in the cut. Every rod refracts the light at its edges and throws it as fine reflections onto wall and ceiling. Switched on, this creates a pattern that changes with every step through the room; switched off, a transparent object remains that emphasises the ceiling height rather than obstructing it.
