The motif
An upright frog reaches for a butterfly sitting on its hand, its mouth opened for the jet of water. At its feet a second, smaller frog crouches on a water lily leaf.

Craftsmanship and casting
Skin and leaf carry a light mottled green patina, the markings of the back chased individually. The water line runs in the standing leg and a pump connection is prepared. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
At 73 cm the frog is the handy piece among the fountains and also fits a small city garden, a terrace or a mini pond. Children recognise the motif at once.

Material and care
Bronze is weatherproof and may stand outdoors all year round, the surface develops its own grown patina over the years. Before the first frost the pump and the water line are drained and the basin is left dry. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical.
