The motif
A youth with curly hair and a narrow headband stands upright, the weight on the right leg. The arms break off below the shoulders and the gaze goes calmly ahead: the pose follows the type of the ancient athlete as shaped by classical Greek sculpture.

Craftsmanship and casting
The patina is applied mottled in verdigris and ochre, as it forms on bronzes that have long lain in water. A black metal stand with a square plate carries the figure and is included. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
At 133 cm the sculpture fits into niches, beside consoles and in libraries without filling the room. The green patina goes particularly well with light stone, oak and white painted walls.

Material and care
Bronze does not age and is practically maintenance free, a dry soft cloth is all it takes. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and surface are part of the process and are not a defect.
