The motif
A nymph stands on a rock of shells and waves, the right arm raised high holding a shell from which the water falls. The body is slightly turned and the head follows the raised hand: the water-bearer figure has belonged to the standard repertoire of garden art since the Renaissance.

Craftsmanship and casting
The patina is kept light in sand, ochre and verdigris and applied mottled, as it forms on long weathered bronzes. The water line runs inside and a pump connection is prepared. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
The light patina stands out well against dark green, so the nymph is best placed in front of a hedge, in a niche or centred in a round basin. Pump and power connection are provided on site.

Material and care
Bronze is weatherproof and may stand outdoors all year round, the surface develops its own grown patina over the years. Before the first frost the pump and the water line are drained and the basin is left dry. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical.
