The motif
The eagle drops forward with outstretched head and open beak, the talons already reaching ahead, the wings standing steeply upwards. Head and nape are set off in a silvery light tone, beak and talons golden, the plumage staying a warm bronze. The figure is carried by a round, black veined marble base.

Craftsmanship and casting
The wings are cast separately and mounted, every feather redrawn by hand after casting; the three colour tones arise from separate patinations and gildings. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
The eagle is a desk and console piece, not a floor object. It needs height beneath it so that the dive is readable as movement: sideboard, mantelpiece, reception counter.

Material and care
Bronze does not age and is practically maintenance free, a dry soft cloth is all it takes. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and surface are part of the process and are not a defect.
