The motif
The German Shepherd stands with legs apart and alert, the ears steeply erect, the muzzle slightly open. The coat is modelled strand by strand, particularly dense at neck and tail, so that the surface stays alive. Back and flanks are patinated darker than chest and legs.

Craftsmanship and casting
The coat is completely chased by hand after casting, the working step that makes the difference with animal bronzes. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.
