The motif
The same aulos player as in the dark version, here in a light patina of sand, ochre and verdigris. The curly-headed boy with a headband blows the ancient double flute, the water issuing from the ends of the pipes.

Craftsmanship and casting
The light patina is applied mottled, as it forms on long weathered bronzes, and makes the motif look like a find from an excavation. Both flute pipes carry water, the supply line lies in the base. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
The light version stands out more strongly against dark green than the brown one and suits light natural stone. Both versions can be placed as a pair to the left and right of a basin.

Material and care
Bronze is weatherproof and may stand outdoors all year round, the surface develops its own grown patina over the years. Before the first frost the pump and the water line are drained and the basin is left dry. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical.
