The motif
Three frogs climb a slanting tree trunk: one works its way right to the top, two sit below among water lily leaves. The water issues from their mouths and falls down along the trunk.

Craftsmanship and casting
The frogs carry a light green patina, the trunk is kept dark brown and shows the bark in the cast. The supply line runs inside the trunk and a pump connection is prepared. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
The motif stands at the pond edge, in a shallow basin or among bankside perennials. Because the frogs are distributed over the full height, the fountain also works close up and from above at an angle.

Material and care
Bronze is weatherproof and may stand outdoors all year round, the surface develops its own grown patina over the years. Before the first frost the pump and the water line are drained and the basin is left dry. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical.
