The motif
The shark moves in a slightly turned pose through a splashing wave that carries it at the same time. Back and fins are patinated sea green, the belly stays a warm bronze, echoing the counter-shading of real sharks. The wave stands on a black polished marble plate.

Craftsmanship and casting
Animal and wave are cast separately; the wave also takes on the statics, which is why the figure carries without a visible support. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
On a sideboard, a console table or a reception counter the length comes into its own. The figure wants to be seen from the side, frontally it loses the movement.

Material and care
Bronze does not age and is practically maintenance free, a dry soft cloth is all it takes. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and surface are part of the process and are not a defect.
