The motif
A reclining female figure stretches both arms upwards, palms open, one leg set up bent. The long hair falls over the base plate. Hands, knee and breast together form the three bearing points on which a glass top rests without any frame being needed.

Craftsmanship and casting
The bearing points are dressed plane parallel so that a top rests flush and free of wobble; the glass top is not included in the delivery. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
With a round or rectangular glass top this becomes a coffee table that is read as a one-off piece in any living room. Without a top the figure remains a reclining sculpture and works just as well.

Material and care
Bronze does not age and is practically maintenance free, a dry soft cloth is all it takes. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and surface are part of the process and are not a defect.
